“Cache” at Herringer Kiss Gallery

The View From Here, 2019

In the Spring of 2019 Drunken Paw was invited by Calgary curator and master framer, Kevin Kanashiro, to be part of a group exhibition he was curating entitled “Cache”. The exhibition was to be held at Herringer Kiss Gallery, Calgary in the summer of 2019.

Honoured to be included, DP decided to make three new large drawings specifically for the ex-hibition, which were beautifully framed by Kevin Kanashiro.

Drunken Paw: Drawing in Public

The otherworldly image of a drunken paw conjures up magical associations and tall or fantastical tales. And so it is that drunken paw Love Triangle Evil as All Bejeesus, an exhibition at Kensington's Hot Wax Records, tells a tale about the storyteller, drunken paw, who mediates the conscious and unconscious realms of experience to render fanciful imagescapes drawn from life. The stories are drawings, a selection chosen from approximately 50 works on paper and found supports produced by this Calgary-based drawing collective since 2009.

The Yellow House

When Drunken Paw is not out in public drawing, we move our practice to a private residence called the Yellow House.

We find the time spent collaborating in this environment is crucial to our development; making drawings and working out ideas and directions for our next adventures out in public spaces, and exhibition opportunities.
